Dream Meaning of Mirror

Seeing a mirror in a dream symbolizes purity, good intentions, and humility. Alternatively, it means you will be appreciated for your good intentions and helpfulness, and many people will offer you opportunities and privileges without any expectation in return.
Seeing a framed mirror in your dream suggests that even though you have great wealth and valuable possessions, you will continue to live modestly and not change your surroundings.
Dreaming that you look into a mirror indicates that you will see through the games people play to test you and will respond accordingly. On the other hand, it may mean you will meet someone whose way of life inspires you, and you will change your own lifestyle to follow their example.
If you dream that you look into a mirror but cannot see your reflection, this may signify that you will discover you were not actually wrong about something you thought you had made a mistake on. If you see another person instead, it symbolizes a loyal friend who will take on your burdens or blame.
Breaking a mirror in a dream means you may need to break the rules to overcome an obstacle or defeat a rival. A broken mirror, however, suggests that your competitor will cheat to gain an advantage.
Cleaning a mirror in a dream indicates that you will be repaid for your help and kindness. This favor and its reward will also benefit your family.
Buying a mirror in a dream symbolizes flattering words you will hear from someone you do not know. If you give a mirror as a gift, it means you will admire a younger person and draw inspiration from them, which will help you solve a longstanding problem.
Buying and selling a mirror in a dream signifies insincere compliments made out of self-interest.
Hanging a mirror on the wall may indicate that someone who has been interested in you for a long time will soon reveal their feelings. It also suggests you will accept an invitation that saves you in a situation where peace and harmony have been disrupted.

i slept on the couch that night and i was about 7 or 8. I had a nightmare, in the dream i got out of my bed and in the dream it was an exact replica of my house that i thought this was actually happening in real life because everything was the same. i thought i had to go to the bathroom and all the lights were off. i walk into my bathroom but all i do is stand still in the mirror. It was a sort of temptation and the lights were still off throughout the house even in the bathroom. and slowly in the distance of the pitch black mirror red glowing eyes appear and then i'm so scared but cant move. and then this long hand comes out of the mirror but it wasn't a normal human hand it was horrible looking. its fingers were so very long and at the end were long pointy. i cant remember the color of the hand but it grabbed my chest and ripped me in.and i woke straight up crying and screaming, running to my mom because she was still awake making phone calls and she said to this day that she never could understand what i was saying because i was so frantic i couldn't get the words out. this was the most traumatizing nightmare I've ever had. but the strange part was when i told my oldest brother about it. my whole family was in the kitchen and i was telling the story and when i did it got serious. my oldest brother said he had fell asleep on that same couch one night and had the same dream where he went to the bathroom, looked into the dark mirror and saw eyes and got pulled in. That's what scared me even more. my question would be, did the couch have something to do with both of our nightmares or was this a sign? what did this dream really mean?
